JAMMU, Aug 30: The two-day Jammu District Judo Championship concluded at the Indoor Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, here today, with nearly 300 judokas competing across various categories. Organized by the Judo Association of Jammu & Kashmir under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, the event saw fierce competition in Sub Junior, Junior and Cadet (Boys & Girls) categories.
Suraj Sharma, General Secretary of JAJ&K, was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. The bouts were officiated by Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia, Jugal Kishore and Danish Sharma. Notable winners in the Cadet Girls category included Alisa (40kg), Mehak Chib (44kg), Niharika Sharma (48kg), and Kashni Chopra (52kg). Nandani Chib emerged as the winner in the 57kg category, while Aishwarya (63kg) and Ikshita (+70kg) grabbed the top spots in their respective divisions.
In Junior Girls, Kashani Chopra (52kg), Nandani (57kg) and Ashriya (63kg) secured victories. The Junior Boys category saw Sumit Lal (55kg), Atul Sharma (60kg), and Ridham Sharma (66kg) as champions.
In the Cadet Boys division, Hitest Chibber (50kg), Amrit Gupta (55kg) and Ridham Sharma (66kg) triumphed in their respective weight categories. The event also witnessed fierce competition in the +100kg category, where Rajan Bhardwaj clinched the top spot.
Prominent figures present at the event included Rohit Sadhotra, Manish Chatwal, Aman Gupta, Rajesh Sumbriya and Sajan Sharma.
