SRINAGAR, Aug 22: Outplaying their rivals by convincing margins in the summit clashes, Jammu District lifted the title trophies in the Under-14, 17 and 19 girls in the State Level Inter-District Badminton Championship, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here.
In Under-14 girls final, Jammu defeated Kargil by two sets to nil (2-0), while in Under-17 girls title clash, Jammu District eves drubbed their counterparts from Budgam District by (2-0) sets, while in Undewr-19 girls final, Jammu girls again thrashed Kargil eves by (2-0) sets.
The Tournament was held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Jehangir Mir and under the supervision of Balbir Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Srinagar.
Kuldeep Kour, Banarasi Lal and Ram Paul accompanied the Jammu District teams as coaches and managers.
Meanwhile, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma lauded the efforts of Jammu District shuttlers and their coaches for this outstanding performance.
It is pertinent to mention here that the selected probables from this Tournament will proceed for National School Games in the disciplines of badminton to be held under the banner of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in the month of December at Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
