JAMMU, Aug 3: Inter Zonal District Level competitions in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball for girls Under-19 years got underway at Govt High School Jammu Cantt, Satwari, here today.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Jammu under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General Youth Services & Sports and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director (J), while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the tournament.
In the opening ceremony, DYSSO Jammu interacted with the participants and advised them to play the game with true spirit.
The conveners/ZPEO’s and technical officials of concerned events were present during the opening ceremony.
In Kho-Kho Under-19 Girls final, Zone Gandhi Nagar/ Satwari defeated Zone Jammu/ Dansal by 8-4 points, while in Kabaddi Under-19 Girls final, Zone Akhnoor/Chowki Choura beat Zone R S Pura/Miran Sahib by 22-15 points and in Volleyball Under-19 girls final, Zone Akhnoor/Chowki Choura drubbed Zone Gandhi Nagar/Satwari by 2-0 sets.
Meanwhile, in Inter-School District Level Football Under-19 girls final at GGM Science College ground, Presentation Convent beat Govt HSS Mubharak Mandi by 3-2 via tie-breaker.
