REASI, May 20: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Reasi, organized Inter-Zonal District Level Sports Competition at General Zorawar Singh Stadium, Reasi, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of over 400 student players from Zones Chassana, Mahore, Arnas, Reasi and Pouni. The event featured multiple disciplines including Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Yoga, Chess, Table Tennis, Badminton and Wrestling.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik, who lauded the dedication, discipline and sportsmanship of the participants. DYSSO Tarsem Singh welcomed the chief guest and shared that over 4,500 students had competed at the inter-school level, from which the best 400 were selected for the district-level event.
In Badminton, Nakul Bali (Reasi) beat Asif Hussain (Arnas) by 3-1 in U14 singles. Sumit Bhagat and Gourav Singh (Reasi) won the U14 doubles over Shubham Bhagat and Arjun Singh (Pouni) by 3-0. In U17, Rakshit Kapoor (Reasi) beat Arbaz Rashid (Mahore) in singles and along with Arrav Wazir, defeated Tanish Sharma and Nikhil Sharma (Arnas) by 3-2 in doubles.
Kho-Kho saw Zone Reasi dominate, winning both U14 and U17 matches against Zone Pouni. In Kabaddi, Zone Reasi beat Zone Arnas (U14) and Zone Pouni (U17).
In Chess, Aryan Sharma (Pouni) beat Yohan Gandotra (Reasi) in U14, while Arav Gupta (Reasi) beat Tanmay Jamwal in U17. Table Tennis U17 final was won by Aryan Bhagat (Pouni), who beat Sahil Kumar (Reasi) by 3-0.
In Yoga U17, Vansh Verma (Reasi) took 1st place, followed by Zubair Mir (Arnas), Mohit Sharma (Pouni), Mohd. Ramzan (Reasi), and Amit Kumar (Pouni). In U14, Danish Kumar, Monu Basan, and Balbir Singh (all Reasi) secured top ranks along with Kirat Singh (Pouni) and Zahid Mir (Arnas).
Wrestling winners included Mohd. Sajid, Karan Kumar, Mohd. Araf (Pouni), Sohan Singh, Mohd. Jamil, Mohd. Imaran (Arnas), Vishav Partap, Pardeep Singh, Tanveer Ahmed, Gourav Singh, and Virat Rajput (Reasi), and Sagar Verma, Mohit Kumar (Pouni).
In Volleyball, Zone Arnas beat Reasi by 2-1 in U17, while Zone Pouni won by 2-0 over Arnas in U14. Officials present included Harvinder Singh (Observer YSS JKUT), Aejaz Ahmed Mir (Incharge Sports Stadium Reasi), Kuldeep Kumar (Activity Incharge DYSS), Balwan Singh (ZPEO Pouni), Asha Devi (ZPEO Reasi) and Vijay Kumar (ZPEO Arnas). All matches were conducted under the supervision of technical officials deputed by DYSS Reasi.
