JAMMU, Oct 23: The Inter-Collegiate Judo Championship (Men) 2018-19 was inaugurated at Jammu University, here today.
The Championship is being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education under the supervision of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, JU.
About 80 judokas of different colleges participated in the Championship.
Muneesh Sharma of GDC Paloura beat Aryan Verma of GDC Khour in below-55 Kg weight category; Visvesh Thakur GDC Kathua ) drubbed Surinder Sharma (GDC Hiranagar); Aniraudh Singh (GDC Kathua ) trounced Bagh Hussain (GDC Hiranagar) in Below 55 kg; Bhanu Partap of GGM Science College outplayed Sujjad Ahmed (GDC, Rajouri); Rahul Sharma of GDC Hiranagar defeated Ajay Singh of Rajouri College in below 73 Kg; Neman of GDC Paloura outclassed Rahul Kumar of GDC Khour; Shashank Bharu of GCET prevailed over Lovish Rakawat of GDC Paloura in Below 68 Kg; Amit Manhas of GDC Khour got the better of Mir Singh of GDC Hiranagar; Jyotieraditya Singh of GDC Kathua trounced Bhunuty Kumar of GDC Khour in below 81 Kg; Vikram Sharma of MIET beat Sunil Chouhan of GGM Science College; Sajjan Sharma of GDC Paloura thrashed Ajay Kumar of GDC Khour; Navdeep Singh of GGM Science College beat Sangram Singh of GDC Kathua; Shubham Kerni of GGM outplayed Daleep Singh of GDC Kathua in 100 Kg; Dekshesh Manhas of GDC Khour trounced Bilal Abdul of GDC Paloura; Akhil of GDC Kathua beat Navdeep Singh GGM Science College in open weight category; Sajan Sharma of GDC Paloura outclassed Aditya Sharma of GDC Hiranagar.
The bouts were officiated by Sanjay Khajuria, Ranjodh Singh, Varinder Sharma and Jai Bharat Sharma
