DODA, May 9: Hydro Electric Project Ramban and Everest Bhalessa registered wins by smashing their rivals in the ongoing All India 12th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda at Sports Stadium here.
In the first match, Hydro Electric Project Ramban after winning the toss set a target of 182 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Zubair and Ajaz scored 43 and 41 runs respectively.
For Diwan Riders Poonch, Faiz took 5 wickets while Basharat and Israr Khan shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Diwan Riders Poonch team could not manage to chase down the target and scored only 129 runs for the loss of all their wickets in 17.2 overs. Asad-ur-Rehman was the highest scorer with 30 runs while Mohammad Afzal contributed with 28 runs.
For Hydro Electric Project Ramban, Ali Hussain and Javaid took 3 and 1 wickets respectively.
Zubair of Hydro Electric Project Ramban was declared as man of the match for his best batting performance.
In the second match, toss was won by Hafiz Eleven Akram Abad and while batting they set a target of 106 runs for the loss of all wickets in 18.2 overs. Mudassir was the top scorer with 25 runs while Yaseen made 18 runs.
For Everest Bhalessa, Arif Rather and Irshad Wani shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, batsman of Everest Bhalessa managed to achieve the target in 7.1 overs by loosing 1 wicket. Amir Wani scored 35 runs while Mubashir Rather made 33 runs.
For Hafiz Eleven Akram Abad and Shadab Hussain scalped one wicket apiece.
Amir Wani was declared as man of the match for his best batting performance who was given prize by chief guest Principal GDC Bhaderwah Prof ZA Hashmi in presence of DHO Doda Dr Tariq Masood, HoD Computer Department GDC Doda Anu, Manager YSCC Doda Mehboob Kraipak and Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev.
The matches were officiated by Aayush Sharma, Noushair Batt, Bharat Jajuriya and Munish Zutshi as umpires while Rinku Bhaduria maintained the scoreboard.
