JAMMU, Mar 14: HNCC got the better of GNCC by 7 wickets to advance into the next round of the ongoing Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Mandal Cricket ground, here today.
Batting first, GNCC scored a fighting total of 141 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Rahul was the top scorer with 44 runs, while Gagan and Monu contributed 28 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For HNCC, Anchal Singh captured 4 wickets, Mithun bagged 2 and Ishfaq claimed one.
In reply, HNCC chased the target in 18.4 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Punnet played a brilliant innings of 55 runs off 39 balls, while Neeraj and Honey contributed 32 and 29 runs respectively. For GNCC, Virender took 2 wickets and Bunty claimed one.
The match was officiated by Virender and Kuldip Singh as umpires, while Rakesh Bawa was the scorer.
