JAMMU, Nov 22: Heritage School, Jammu celebrated its Junior School Annual Function (classes I & II) with great gusto at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, here today.
Sheetal Nanda, Deputy Commissioner, Samba graced the occasion as the chief guest and Babila Rakhwal, Director School Education Jammu was the guest of honour. ID Soni, President, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides was also present on the occasion.
The function which saw a mass participation of over four hundred children was based on the theme ‘Metamorphosis’. The idea was to impress upon the audience the journey of a young child akin to that of a butterfly, and how Heritage School has set a benchmark near perfection to achieve the same.
The proceedings of the event commenced with the lighting of the lamp to invoke the divine blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
The Headmistress in her welcome address laid emphasis on the holistic growth of the child and how co-scholastic activities help in rendering the same.
The programme about the life cycle of a butterfly from the protective cocoon to self discovery of wings and beauty was symbolic of a child’s gradual growth and development towards erudition and experimentation.
Guests and parents encouraged the efforts of the little butterflies amidst applause and loud cheering.
Sunita Gupta, Chairperson, Heritage School, felicitated the chief guest with the memento.
The chief guest in her speech laid stress on the constant need to extend learning beyond the four walls of the classroom for all-round development of children.
JS Dhami, Principal, Heritage School presented vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with the school song.
