JAMMU, June 19: Splendid inning of 58 runs in 31 balls by Happy and three wickets haul by Tinku helped Singh Bataira to register 49 runs win over Muthi Cricket Club (MCC) and to register berth in the quarterfinal stage of the ongoing 8th Pawan Memorial Cricket Tourney, being organized by Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor and AYC Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Akhnoor, here.
Batting first, Singh Bataira scored 192 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Happy chipped in some crispy shots and made 58 runs in 31 balls, while Anil made 45 runs off 36 balls, Kabhi scored 28 runs in 20 balls and Jerry made 21 runs in 16 balls.
From Muthi Cricket Club (MCC) side, Sahil scalped 2 wickets, while Baba, Panku and Aman took one wicket apiece.
In the second inning, Muthi Cricket Club failed to chase the target and bundled out at 143 runs for all out in 19.4 overs. Ankush was the top scorer with 21 runs, while Sahil, Sunny and Aman made 20, 19 and 18 runs respectively.
From Singh Bataira side, Tinku was the pick-of-the-bowler with 3 wickets, while Happy and Binny scalped 2 wickets. Lablu, Panday and Rohit shared one wicket each.
Happy of Singh Bataira was adjudged as Man of the Match.
The match was officiated by Rajinder Sharma and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Ashu Mangotra maintained the scorecard.
In tomorrow’s fixture, New Challenger Jammu will take on Tanishta Jammu in the first quarterfinal match at 8 am.
