JAMMU, Nov 25: One-day workshop on “Importance of Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks and other Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” was organized at Govt. Polytechnic, Jammu in collaboration with J&K State Council for Science and Technology.
The workshop was inaugurated by Parvez Ahmed Malik, Secretary to Govt., Science & Technology and IT Department, who while speaking on the occasion motivated the students to work in the field of Technical education and bring new ideas and innovations in the field of Technology for making the life of common man simple.
Earlier, Er Arun Bangotra, Principal, Govt Polytechnic, Jammu presented welcome address.
Shafat Sultan, Additional Director, JKSTC also spoke on the occasion.
The inauguration was followed by technical sessions by Sajid Sheikh, Lecturer, Dogra Law College, Jammu, Er. Manik Gupta, Patent Agent and Er. Idrees-Ul-Haq, Representative, JK Innovators Forum.
All the speakers focussed upon the basics of IPR and protection of innovation and inventions by Patents.
The workshop was organized by Er. Khalid Sheikh, Lecturer, Govt. Polytechnic, Jammu and Shruti Khanna, Programme Coordinator, J&K State Council for Science and Technology. Others who were present on the occasion were Er. Nazir Ahmed Malik, Secretary, J&K State Board of Technical Education, M A Bhat, Joint Director, JKS&TC and Sanjay Kumar Additional Director, J&K State Council for Science and Technology.
