Govt gives approval to withdrawal of recognition to JKOA

JAMMU, Mar 14: Acting on the report of the observers of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council namely Prof BA Shah, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ranjeet Kalra and Rashid Choudhary, the State Government has given approval to the withdrawal of recognition of J&K Olympic Association in terms of Rule 27 of the Constitution of J&K State Sports Council.
Wide letter no: Edu/Tech/Phy/51/2016 dated 3-03-2016 to the Secretary Sports Council, the State Government has also authorized the Council to take-up the matter regarding formulation of adhoc body of J&K Olympic Association, with the Ministry of Sports, GoI and Indian Olympic Association.
“However, the primary task of the J&K State Sports Council should be conduct of elections as per the rules and Court directions,” the letter added.
