Gorkha Club enters semis in 1st Patel Memorial T20 Cup

JAMMU, Apr 20: Gorkha Cricket Club defeated Simbalwala Cricket Club and sealed berth in the semifinal of the ongoing ‘1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup’, being played at Parade Cricket Ground here.
The Tournament is being organized by Patel Cricket under the aegis of JKCA.
The event is being organized under the supervision of Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, President Patel Club and Vijay Sharma, Secretary of the Club.
In the first quarterfinal match played today, Gorkha Cricket Club defeated Simbalwala Cricket Club in a rain-hit match.
Batting first, Simbalwala Club scored 145 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Anil (68), Sanjeev (29) and Suraj (11) runs were the main scorers.
From bowling Side, Ashu took 3 wickets, while Sakib bagged 2 and Raul claimed one.
Because of rain, Gorkha Cricket Club had to chase a revised target of 62 runs in 5 overs, which they did successfully by losing just one wicket. Raul top scored with 45 runs, while Nikhil and Sahil contributed 13 and 12 runs to the total respectively. From bowling side, Sanjeev took 1 wicket. Raul Kumar was declared as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Saleem-ur- Rehman, Amit Gupta and Rahul Kumar whereas the post match proceedings were conducted by Sohan Bharti.
In tomorrow’s fixture, JCC will take on Bali Cricket Club at 9.30 am.
