JAMMU, Feb 19: Goa defeated Jammu and Kashmir in a one-sided contest by 10 wickets in the ongoing Women’s Cricket U-19 One Day Tournament at Sanguem Cricket Ground, Goa.
Earlier, batting first, J&K bundled out for paltry 59 runs in 21 overs. Iqra Rasool top scored with 29 runs off 32 balls, studded with 4 delectable boundaries, while Lalita and Samridhi Choudhary contributed 12 and 6 runs respectively. From Goa, Gawde Diksha was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 5 important wickets, while Shindiya Naik took 2 wickets. Sejal Satardekar and Tejaswini N claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Goa chased the required target in just 9.3 overs, without losing any wicket, thus won the match by 10 wickets. Opening batswomen Purveja P Verlekar and Shindiya Naik scored unbeaten 30 and 23 respectively. Purveja hit 6 boundaries in her knock, while Naik struck one four in her innings. From Jammu and Kashmir, none of the bowlers was among the wickets.
With this win, Goa earned 4 points, while J&K got 0 points.
