Girls shine in Udhampur Inter-Zonal Sports Meet

UDHAMPUR, May 25: The District Level Inter-Zonal Tournament for U-14 and U-17 Girls, organized by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, continued with great enthusiasm on its third day at various venues across Udhampur.
Competitions in Wushu, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis and Chess commenced during the day, witnessing active participation from players representing different zones of the district. District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur, Tarsem Singh, interacted with players, field staff and officials along with ZPEO Udhampur Vijay Kumar.
In Table Tennis U-17 Girls category, Sanvika of APS Dhar Road clinched the title while Arya of National Academy finished runner-up. In the U-14 category, Pragya of APS Dhar Road emerged winner and Arya Badyal secured the second position.
In Chess U-17 Girls, Khanak Sharma of APS Udhampur secured first place, followed by Divya Anthal of GHS Swena, Chenani and Tanvi Thakur of AOC Udhampur. In the U-14 category, Dhanak of APS Udhampur claimed the top position while Ishanvi Ganotra secured second place.
In Wushu U-17 Girls, Pritama Singh of Girls HSS Udhampur won the first position, followed by Bumika Kalgotra of Modern Academy Rembal and Arthika Wazir of BBVSP Udhampur.
Zone Chenani dominated the Kho-Kho competitions by winning both U-14 and U-17 Girls titles, while Zone Babey finished runner-up in both categories.
