GDC commemorates birth anniversary of Subramania Bharati

JAMMU, Dec 11: Government Degree College Rajouri organized an Inter- College essay writing competition in commemoration of Subramania Bharati who was the first to plead for women’s empowerment and their tangible participation in politics.
60 students drawn from various Colleges of the district participated in the event.
The purpose of this competition was to highlight the contribution of Subramania Bharati to the emancipation of women folk.
A quiz competition was also organized in the College where Sushant Sharma, Pawandeep Kour and Zeenat Fatima bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The proceedings of the programmes were conducted under the patronage of Dr J A Qazi, Principal of the College and under the supervision of Dr Shafia Saleem, Co-ordinator of Women Development Cell.
The stage was conducted by Arushi, Head Girl of the College.
Dr Qazi delivered a lecture regarding the subject on the occasion.
