GCW Gandhi Nagar lifts Inter- Collegiate Volleyball Trophy

JAMMU, Oct 16: Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar lifted Volleyball (Women) Trophy by defeating PG Department in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Volleyball (W) championship 2014-15, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education (DSPE), University of Jammu, at University Sports Stadium.
In the final match, GCW Gandhi Nagar thrashed PG Department by (3-1) sets with set scores (25-20, 19 – 25, 25-17 and 25-18).
The trophy was awarded to the winners by Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, DSPE, University of Jammu.
The matches were officiated by Arvind Sharma, Naseeb Singh, Prableen Kour while the tournament was organized by Vikas Karlopia, Volleyball Coach, University of Jammu.
In Inter-Collegiate Football (M) Tournament 2014-15, four matches were played today.
The 1st match was played between ASCOMS Jammu and GDC Akhnoor, which was won by ASCOMS by 5-1.
For ASCOMS team 1st goal was scored by Syed Shahaan in 2nd minute, 2nd was scored by Usman Bashir in 13th minute, 3rd  by Tahir Shafi in 20th minute while 4th and 5th goals were scored by Salman and Shahid in 49th and 55th minutes. For GDC Akhnoor, the only goal was scored by VIshal Kumar in 53rd minute.
In 2nd match GGM Science College defeated MBS College by 2 – 0. 1st goal for GGM Science College was scored by Anuj Singh in 25th minute while the 2nd was added by Pardeep Sharma in 45th minute.
The 3rd match was won by PG Arts, which thrashed PG Law and Science by 6-0.  Niteshwar Singh, Dharam Pal, Ayush, Niteshwar Singh, Stanzin and Gagandeep Singh scored one goal each for PG Arts.
SPMR College of Commerce also won the match by defeating its opponent MAM College by 3 – 1 in (Tie Breaker). For Commerce College, Pankaj, Rohit and Ankit scored one goal each. The only goal for MAM College was scored by Aman Banathia.
The matches were officiated by Dr Brij Baloria, Gagan Kumar, Rickey Kumar, Dheeraj Kumar, Taranpal Singh and Dhanajay.
All the tournaments and matches were conducted under the direct supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, DSPE, University of Jammu (JU).
