Inter-Collegiate Volleyball C’ship

UDHAMPUR, Sept 16: Three day long Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Championship for men and women concluded at GDC Udhampur today.
During the valedictory function and trophy presentation ceremony, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, Director Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur was the chief guest. Sujit Kumar Singh, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Mohan Lal, Assistant Director Operation SKPA, Dr Gurvinderjeet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and Rajinder Katoch, Additional Superintendent of Police Udhampur also graced the valedictory function.
While speaking, Dr SD Singh Jamwal said that sports teach how to lead life. He assured of all his support to the college in its journey towards ‘Excellence’.
Earlier, Principal of the college Prof (Dr) Nutan Kumar Resutra welcomed the chief guest and presented the report on the tournament.
In the final nail biting matches, GCW Gandhi Nagar outplayed GCW Parade by 3.2 to register their second consecutive win in women’s section where as in men’s section, GDC Kathua forced GDC Udhampur to taste defeat in the final of the trophy by 3.0 on its home ground.
Medals, mementoes and trophies were also presented to students who had presented Guard of Honour, NCC Piloting girls, NSS Volunteers, officials conducting tournament and also teaching and non-teaching college faculty.
Dr RS Jamwal, Principal GDC Basohli, Rakesh, Naveen Sharma, Sanjay Sharma were the technical officials.
In the end, Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra proposed the formal vote of thanks.
