JAMMU, Dec 9: Fast bowler Aquib Nabi, a rising star from Jammu & Kashmir, is among eight talented cricketers from the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) shortlisted for the IPL Auction 2026.
Joining him are all-rounder Lone Nasir Muzaffar, pacer Waseem Bashir Khanday, left-arm spinning all-rounder Abid Mushtaq, stylish batter Vivrant Sharma, explosive opener Qamran Iqbal, pacer Atif Mushtaq and off-spinner Murgan Ashwin. All uncapped JKCA players will enter the auction with a base price of Rs 30 lakh, attracting attention from IPL franchises seeking emerging talent.
Previously, four prominent cricketers from the region—Umran Malik, Abdul Samad, Yudvir Singh Charak and Rasikh Salam—have already been retained by their respective franchises.
Out of over 1,300 aspirants, the BCCI finalized a shortlist of 240 Indian and 110 overseas players for the IPL 2026 auction, scheduled in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
