DODA, June 7: District Youth Services and Sports Office Doda held the selection trials for Under-19 cricketers and selected 22 players for the forthcoming Inter-District Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament for further selection of the State team.
The trials were held at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Bhaderwah, under the overall supervision of Swami Raj Kotwal, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Doda and the panel of selectors included Aftab Alam (convener), besides Ifroz Ahmed, Vinod Bhagat and former Ranji trophy player Sameer Malik.
According to the organizers, over 100 cricketers drawn from across the district turned up for the trials, out of which 22 got the selectors nod.
“We have picked the players on merit after holding rigorous net sessions and fielding drills,” said one of the selectors while talking to EXCELSIOR.
