DPS Udhampur celebrates Annual Sports Day

UDHAMPUR, Dec 11: Delhi Public School Udhampur celebrated Annual Sports Day ‘DPS Olympics’, based on the theme initiated by Prime Minister of India “Fit India”.
All the students from classes VI To XII from the school participated in the sports day events.
The programme began with a scintillating dance performance by the students. The celebrations began with a lighting of the sports torch, flag hoisting, march past by all the four houses Sam Veda, Yaujur Veda, Atharva Veda and Rig Veda and the Oath taking ceremony.
The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events.
They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances.
The Saree drill, Aerobics, Fusion dance, Dangal dance, Martial Arts Extreme and the other cultural items remained as the main attraction of the mega event.
The annual school report was presented by the school Principal Dr Kunal Anand which highlighted the achievements of school in various spheres.
Dr Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion, while Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur and Pro Vice Chairman of the school, Dr JC Gupta graced the occasion with their presence.
The chief guest in his key note address emphasised that Annual Sports Day is a red letter day in each child’s life and how important sports is in a child’s life.
He lauded the efforts of the school management for providing quality education and also for holding the function in a befitting manner.
The programme concluded with the presentation of National Anthem.
