Doon Int’l School hosts IIMUN Conference

JAMMU, May 31: Doon International School, Jammu hosted the IIMUN conference, the largest of its kind, which is set to continue for the next two days. The event brought together an impressive assembly of 570 students from reputed CBSE schools across Jammu and neighbouring regions.
The first day featured an elaborate welcome ceremony attended by eminent dignitaries and esteemed guests. The event was honoured by the presence of Satish Sharma, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Youth Affairs and Sports, Jammu & Kashmir; Vikram Randhawa, Member of the Legislative Assembly; Col. Harinder Singh; and Padma Shri recipient Faizal Ali Dar.
The ceremony was also graced by the school’s leadership team, including Chairman G. N. Tantray, Vice Chairman M. A. Tantray, Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur, Director Leesan Ul Nabi, Director Shazia Mushtaq, Vice Principal Dr. Sarita Moza Koul, Academic Manager Gazia Khan and Headmistress Shivali Singh Pathania. Their presence underscored the institution’s commitment to excellence and holistic development.
A key highlight of the day was the inauguration of the new Multipurpose Sports Facility Ground, comprising a basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court and skating rink. It was unveiled by Sports Minister Satish Sharma in the presence of other guests and school dignitaries. This facility reflects the school’s focus on physical fitness, sportsmanship, and extracurricular excellence.
The IIMUN conference continues for the next two days with committees, debates, and interactive sessions designed to deepen students’ understanding of international diplomacy, policy-making, and leadership.
