JAMMU, Mar 30: Inter College Moot Court Competition, organised by Dogra Law College got underway, here today.
Prof RR Sharma, former Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu and retired Professor from JNU was the chief guest on the occasion, while the Judges who presided over the Moot Court were DK Kapoor (Member Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission), Seema Shekhar (Sr. Adv General), Aseem Sawhney (Additional Adv General).
The function commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and was followed by Saraswati Vandana to invoke the blessings of almighty.
Prof Sharma, in his address appreciated the efforts of Dogra Law College in organising the Moot Court Competition and emphasised the importance of Moot Court for Law students.
Earlier, Prof VP Magotra Principal Dogra Law College accorded warm welcome to all the dignitaries.
Th Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman Dogra Educational Trust also presided over the function and threw light on the history of Dogra Law College and the achievements made by the college since its establishment.
A total of four teams from colleges of legal education affiliated to the University of Jammu which were coded as A, B, C and D participated in the competition.
Two sessions were held today and during these sessions the judges interacted with the participants and asked many questions regarding their particular cases. By the end of the day two teams were shortlisted which will again participate in the final round tomorrow.
