SRINAGAR, Nov 28: Sixth Fencing District Championship, organised by District Association under the aegis of Adhoc Committee J&K Amateur Fencing Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, concluded at Bakhshi Stadium, here today.
In this three day event around 80 players including boys and girls from different Government and private schools of Srinagar participated in epee, foil and sabre events. Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar (Manager Bakhshi Stadium) was the chief guest, while Altaf Ahmed Manager Indoor Stadium Srinagar was the guest of honour and Razia Sultan NIS qualified coach was the organising secretary of the event.
Niyaz Ahmed (PEM) and Numaan were among the technical experts who officiated the bouts.
In men’s sabre, first three medals were won by Mumin, Sadeed and Aarif respectively, while in epee men, Owais, Taskeen and Arif won top three medals respectively and in foil men, top three medals were secured by Danish, Suman and Arsalan respectively.
In women sabre, Saiqa, Zainab and Insha won Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively, while in epee, top three medals were clinched by Mehak, Arujula & Rihana respectively and in foil, top three medals were won by Sadiya, Simran and Rutba, respectively.
