KATRA, May 27: District level Inter School tournament, being organised by the District Youth Services and Sports Office Reasi in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board got underway at Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, here.
The event of Basketball, Archery and Shooting in the age groups of Under-14, U-17 and U-19 years was inaugurated by Vivek Verma, Additional CEO SMVDSB as the chief guest, while Ashok Kumar, Director Sports SMVDSB was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi, Romesh Mishra.
In Basketball Under-14 girls, GHS Katra defeated MS Kundrorian by 10-8, while in Basketball Under-14 boys, Boys Middle School Katra drubbed MS Hansali.
Amba Kids Home Panthal trounced Primary School Katra by 12-11 and in the final, Amba Kids Home Panthal defeated MS Kundrorian Kids by 16-13 to win the title.
In Basketball Under-17 girls, GHSS Katra beat GHS Katra by 18-15.
In Shooting Under-14 and Under-17 girls category, Diya Khadgotra (Pistol) of GHS Katra scored 145 points, out of 200, while Yashika (Pistol) scored 80 points and Sushma (Pistol) 66.
In boys category, Jayant Gupta (Rifle) of DPS scored 155 points out of 200, Kunal scored 130 points out of 200 and qualified for the final round.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts including Rahul Bakshi, Jaswant Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Harpreet Kour, Pawan Kumar, Suman Lata and Jasbir Kour.
