KATHUA, Sept 28: District Kathua Powerlifting Association organised District Bench-press Championship wherein Vice Chairman DDC Kathua, Raghunandan Singh Jasrotia was the chief guest, here today.
The event started with lightening the lamps by the chief guest in presence of president MC Lakhanpur and president Powerlifting Association Kathua, Ravinder Kumar Sharma, general secretary District Kathua Powerlifting Association, Shabeel Ahmed and other dignitaries.
Rahul Sawhney, senior vice president and Ajay Sharma, general secretary of J&K UT Powerlifting Association were also present.
About 85 participants from different parts of the district participated in sub-junior, junior, senior and master categories of both equipped and unequipped (men & women). The gold medallists of today’s event will participate in the UT level competition which is scheduled to be held at Jammu in next month.
The prizes were distributed among the winners by Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav along with Senior Superintendent of Police, RS Kotwal.
