JAMMU, Jan 19: District Jammu Carrom Championship for boys and girls got underway at Bhargava Public School, Gadigarh, here today.
Sham Lal Sharma, retired coach of Sports Authority of India (SAI) was the chief guest, who inaugurated the event in an impressive and well attended function, while Vikas Sharma, Principal Bhargava Public School, GS Bakshi, Chief Coordinator J&K Carrom Association, Angat Singh, Joint Secretary District Jammu and Raj Rani, Member of the Association were present on the occasion.
In the matches played on the opening day today, Anshul Sharma defeated Krishna Sharma, Shamim Khan outplayed Ankit Sharma, Manpreet Kour defeated Pavleen Kour, Shashi Kumar got the beter of Sunil, Lovish Kumar beat Udhay Raina, Shreeya Raina drubbed Madhav, Abhishek Bharadwaj defeated Anmol Gupta, Prana Devi prevailed over Pawanpreet Kour, Harshdeep Sudan trounced Ansh, Madhav outplayed Vansh and Ashish Dhar drubbed Savansh.
