JAMMU, Feb 10: All-round show by Dilawar Singh helped Brig Rajinder Singh Cricket Club (RSCC) to register an exciting win by 3-runs over SSC RS Pura to advance in the ongoing Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Cantt Cricket Club at Government High School Satwari grounds, here.
Needing 6 runs in the last over, with 4 wickets in hand, SSC batsmen Sachin and Amit Rathi failed to negotiate the deliveries bowled by left-arm seamer Dilawar Singh in the last over and managed only 2 runs to lose the match by 3 runs. Dilawar bowled with a nagging line and teasing length in that over, forcing two rival batsmen to run themselves out. SSC scored 124 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Tejinder was the top scorer with 45 runs, while Sachin contributed 27 runs. Daljeet also chipped in with 11 runs. For RSCC, Dilawar captured 3 wickets by conceding 21 runs in his 4 overs, while Devinder claimed 2 and Radheshyam one.
Earlier, batting first, Brig RSCC scored a modest total of 127 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sidhant (28), Dilawar Singh (22) and Sahil (13) were the main contributors. For SSC, Rahul and Amit Rathi took 3 wickets, while Daljeet claimed two. Dilawar of Brig RSCC was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show.
Bharat Bhushan, Cantonment member was the chief guest in today’s proceedings, while the match was officiated by Vijay Chaudhary and Parshotam as umpires, while Rahul maintained the scorebook.
