JAMMU, Feb 10: First class cricketer Abid Nabi, young spinner Pavit Singh Ishar and all-rounder Deepak Dogra helped Ishar Cricket Club to trounce JKP XI by 20 runs in the ongoing Anti Drug T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Red Rose Cricket Club, under the overall supervision of chairman Basant Singh Saini at Arnia, near here today.
Batting first, Ishar Club scored a fighting total of 168 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Abid Nabi was the top scorer with 40 runs, studded with 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Deepak Dogra contributed 34 runs with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. Shubam Khajuria (20) and Sahil Sharma (22) were the other contributors. For JKP XI, Vishal took 2 wickets, while Shamsher, Sakib and Shashi claimed one wicket each.
JKP XI, in reply managed to score 148 runs to lose the match by 20 runs. Sunny Malik top scored with quick-fire 36 runs including 3 fours and 3 sixes, while Shamsher Singh, Ahmer and Shashi contributed 32, 26 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Pavit Singh Ishar was the most successful bowler for Ishar Club, who scalped 3 important wickets by giving away 33 runs in his 4 overs, while Abid Nabi and Deepak Dogra bagged 2 wickets each. Irshad and Sahil Sharma also claimed one wicket each. Abid Nabi was declared man of the match for his superb all-round display.
