DG NCC inspects CATC, reviews Ladakh academy work

LEH, May 27: Director General National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lt Gen Virendra Vats, visited 1 Ladakh Battalion NCC, Leh, during the ongoing Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) being conducted from May 19 to 28 at Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Gupuk, Leh, for around 350 cadets.
During his visit, the DG NCC called on the Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, and General Officer Commanding (GOC), 14 Corps, Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, to discuss issues related to youth development, expansion of NCC footprint across Ladakh, and strengthening of training infrastructure in the region.
He also interacted with NCC cadets drawn from various educational institutions of Leh-Ladakh and lauded their enthusiasm, discipline, and commitment towards nation-building. He appreciated the training being imparted by the NCC team Leh and encouraged cadets to actively participate in national-level camps and contribute to nation-building. The DG NCC also felicitated outstanding Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) and cadets for their exemplary performance and achievements in various activities.
Later, he visited the under-construction Ladakh NCC Training Academy at Phyang, Leh, and reviewed the progress of ongoing works. He stressed timely completion of the project, which is expected to significantly enhance training facilities for cadets in the region. He highlighted NCC’s commitment to empowering youth in remote and border areas and grooming future leaders in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
