DDC inaugurates T-20 Cricket Tournament

SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Senior BJP leader and DDC Member Er. Aijaz Hussain inaugurated the T-20 Cricket Tournament at Government Degree College (GDC) Bemina, serving as the chief guest at the event. The tournament is being organized by Mosman Cricket Club, under the leadership of Gouher Khan and Suhail Qureshi, with 32 teams from across the Valley participating.
DySP West Masjid Mehboob attended as the guest of honour, while Inayat Hussain, Physical Director, and Showkat Hussain, Physical Teacher of GDC Bemina, lent their support to the young athletes.
In his address, Er. Aijaz Hussain praised the organizers for promoting sports and engaged with both players and students in an interactive session. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between sports and studies, stating: “You are the future of Jammu & Kashmir. Sports instill discipline, teamwork, and protect our youth from drug abuse.”
The tournament’s opening day witnessed a vibrant turnout, reflecting Kashmir’s growing enthusiasm for cricket and the value of such platforms in youth development and community building.
