DODA, July 15: The maiden cricket tournament for visually impaired players concluded yesterday at Bhaderwah, in which players from across the State and locals of the district participated.
The objective of conducting this tournament, organised for the first time in the district by Cricket Blind Association J&K in collaboration with district red cross society Doda, was to harness the talent of visually impaired players in sports activities and to provide them a platform to have a career in the sports sector.
District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, distributed Certificates and Trophies among the winning and runner up teams of the tournament besides giving away certificates of appreciation for showcasing their extraordinary talent in the field.
Among others DYSSO Doda Ashok Kotwal and members of District Red Cross Society Doda were present in the concluding ceremony.
