JAMMU, Nov 3: The Cluster University of Jammu organized the Inter-Collegiate Wrestling (Men & Women) Competition for the session 2025–26 at GGM Science College, here today.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, Retired Principal of SPMR College of Commerce, graced the occasion as chief guest. He was presented with a memento by Dr. (Prof.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College.
The tournament was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director, Physical Education & Sports, Cluster University of Jammu. In the Men’s section, GGM Science College emerged champion with 29 points, followed by Govt. MAM College with 28 points, and SPMR College of Commerce with 14 points. Gold medal winners included Magleshwar Baru (MAM College, 57 kg), Rouaf Ahmed (GGM Science College, 61 kg), Azwar Nasir (MAM College, 65 kg), Mohd. Imran (MAM College, 70 kg), Vansh Katoch (SPMR College, 74 kg), Nabjot Singh (MAM College, 79 kg), Mohd. Rahoof (GGM Science College, 86 kg), Majid Ahmed (GGM Science College, 92 kg), Mohasin Murad (MAM College, 97 kg), and Mohsin Shafi (GGM Science College, 125 kg).
In the Women’s section, GCW Gandhi Nagar was declared overall winner. Urvashi Bhagat (50 kg) and Mishti Sharma (55 kg) of GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged gold medals.
Faculty members Dr. Rahul Kaith, Prof. Arjun Singh Rathore, Prof. Chaman Lal, Prof. Arun Sharma, Kajal Premi and Dr. Bilal Ahmed Malla attended the event. The matches were officiated by Hariveer Singh, Vipin Singh and Muskan Rajput.
