CMCC drubs Singh CC in opening tie

JAMMU, Jan 27: CMCC defeated Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor by 7 wickets in the inaugural match of the 2nd Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, which got underway at Government High School Satwai Cantt ground, here today.
Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Singh Club scored a modest total of 119 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Jimmy was the top scorer with 28 runs, while Sunil and Sumit contributed 27 and 22 runs to the total respectively. For CMCC, Sahil Bhalwal wasd pick of the bowlers, who calimed 3 wickets by conceding 16 runs in his 4 overs, while first-class cricketer Ramdayal bagged 2 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away 21 runs. Parveen Singh and Bandeep Singh took one wicket each.
In reply, CMCC chased the target easily in 16 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Jatin Wadhawan top scored with 44 runs, while Bandeep contributed 32 runs to the total. Bansi Lal and Sahil Bhalwal chipped in with 15 and 14 runs respectively. Sham, Atul and Sunny claimed one wicket apiece. For his all-round show Sahil Bhalwal was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Ram and Danny as umpires, while lucky was the scorer.
