JAMMU, Dec 25: Social & cultural organizations and schools celebrated Christmas with religious fervour and enthusiasm, here today.
Social and Charitable Organization ‘Rehari Reference’ celebrated Christmas with fervour and gaiety at its Headquarter today.
Pasture Sonu Malik, Ravi Matto and Danis Matto garlanded the chief guest Raj Kuamr Verma, president of Rehari Reference.
People spoke at length about the significance of the day.
Vote of thanks was presented Arun Kumar, convener Rehari Reference. Prominent among others who were presented on the occasion were Amar Chand Matto, Rinku, Vicky and Stephen.
Vichar Kranti Manch International celebrated Mary Christmas in Himmat Leanring Field Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat with pomp and show. Students of 11th and 12th class conducted the programme and Suman, Nisha, Poonam, Mahi and Arti presented various skits depicting life history of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary. Students also performed prayer.
S K Jain, president VKMI was the chief guest, while Chander Mohan Sharma, Chairman of the School presided over the function.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Jain advised the students and teaching staff to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. He also stressed for adoption of moral values and strengthening secular harmony in the society. Mr Chander Mohan also spoke on the occasion.
Anju Gupta, Vice Principal of the School presented vote of thanks. Sweets were also distributed among the students.
Sports day of kindergarten wash held today in the premises of Dewan Devi Hr Sec School with enthusiasm. The students won many prizes in frog race, net crossing, bursting the balloons and musical chairs etc.
The students of primary and secondary wing celebrated Christmas and New Year with great enthusiasm. Attired in Santa Claus dress, students presented various cultural programmes which enthralled the audience.
The chairman of the School, Subhash Chander Suri advised the students to keep themselves physically fit.
JK Convent School Subash Nagar celebrated Christmas day its School premises.
A colorful dance and fancy dress competition was held. One of the kids who was dressed like Santa Claus distributed sweets among teachers, parents and children presents. Prizes were distributed among the winners of the competition by chief guest Sohan Singh Sony, Sr leader PDP.
Rohit Bains, Director of the School threw light on the life of Jesus Christ. He also presented the vote of thanks.
