LEH, Aug 27: On the penultimate day of the Ladakh School Olympics today, there were exciting results in the finals of Volleyball, Boxing and Athletic events, here.
With these results the participants’ spirits and energy rose higher taking the sportsmanship spirit to a new level.
Chief Secretary of J&K, BVR Subramanyam presented the medals to winners in boxing finals in both senior and junior boys and girls categories.
It was for the first time boxing event was held in Leh and participation drew the greatest number of enthusiasts and inspired many serving best the purpose of the whole event of local Olympics held under the aegis of LAHDC Leh Administration led by DC Leh Avny Lavasa.
Chief Secretary was accompanied by DC Leh, and SSP Leh Sargun Shukla.
Other district officers were also present on the occasion.
In athletics events like high jump, long jump, triple jump, 1500 meters boys and girls races at NDS Stadium Leh, the winners were presented with medals by MP Ladakh, Thupstan Chhewang and ADC Leh Moses Kunzang in presence former District Youth Sports and Services Officer, Joint Director Education Ladakh, Special Officer Culture, J&K Cultural Academy and ARTO Leh.
At Pologround Leh, final Volleyball matches of girls and boys were played and they winners were presented medals by senior Army Officers.
