Chess, Shooting meets postponed

JAMMU, Mar 13: All J&K Chess Association and Jammu and Kashmir Shooting Association have postponed their activities in view of the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19).
“As per the directions of the authorities, All J&K Chess Association has decided to postpone J&K UT Chess Championship which was scheduled to be held from March 21, 2020 at J&K Sports Council Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, here,” a handout issued here by All J&K Chess Association said.
The Association has also postponed Jammu Division Senior Open Chess Championship, which was to be held on March 19, 2020. The Association will announce fresh dates only after the atmosphere is congenial for holding the activities.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Shooting Association (JKRA) has also postponed the Shooting Championship which was scheduled to be held from March 24 to 28, 2020 at the General Zorawar Singh Shooting Range, Bari Brahamana.
Top Shooters of the Union Territory were expected to participate in the meet, which has been postponed for an indefinite period.
