JAMMU, Mar 15: The Departments of Chemistry and Political Science scripted resounding victories in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education , University of Jammu at Varsity ground, here.
In the first match, Chemistry Department defeated Psychology Department by 7 wickets. Batting first, Psychology Department scored 109 runs in the stipulated 12 overs. Davinder top scored with 38 runs, while Atul and Rajinder contributed 27 and 18 runs respectively. For Chemistry Department, Mukesh took 2 wickets, while Sumit claimed one.
In reply, Chemistry Department, chased the target in 11.3 overs by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets.
In another match, Political Science Department defeated MCA Department by 7 wickets. MCA scored a paltry total of 66 runs. Pankaj and Mohd Saqib contributed 21 and 18 runs respectively.
In reply, Political Science Department chased the target in 9.2 overs by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. Shakeel was the top scorer with 21 runs.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Vijay Dogra, Raman Verma, Rahul Sharma, Vinay Manhas and Rajkumar Bakshi.
