Chandeep wins gold at Asian Para Taekwondo C’ship

JAMMU, May 27: Bringing immense pride to Jammu and Kashmir and the nation, Indian Para Taekwondo Athlete Chandeep Singh won the Gold Medal in the Over 80 Kg category at the 11th Asian Para Taekwondo Championship held in Mongolia.
This historic achievement marks the first-ever gold medal for Jammu and Kashmir in an Asian Taekwondo Championship, making it a landmark moment for the Union Territory in international sports. Competing against top para athletes from across Asia, Chandeep Singh delivered a powerful and disciplined performance to clinch the top honour in the heavyweight category.
The victory reflects years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, while also highlighting the rising stature of Indian para sports at the global level. After his win, Chandeep Singh expressed gratitude to his coaches, family, and supporters for their constant encouragement and belief in his journey.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also lauded the achievement on platform X, congratulating the athlete and calling it a historic feat that has brought pride to the nation and Jammu and Kashmir.
