JAMMU, June 8: In a breathtaking exhibition of aggressive batting, Chandan hammered an unbeaten 70 off just 26 deliveries to power Safran Cricket Club to a dominant 9-wicket win over Bhaarat Cricket Club in the 6-T Country Summer Slam Series league match at the Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota, here today.
Chasing a modest target of 112, Safran CC overcame the early loss of a wicket thanks to Chandan’s fireworks at the crease. His blistering knock included 11 boundaries and 3 towering sixes, coming at a phenomenal strike rate of 269.23. He was well supported by Sukhiee, who contributed a fluent 35 off 21 balls, ensuring the chase was completed in style.
Earlier in the day, Bhaarat Cricket Club struggled with the bat and was bowled out for 111 in 19.5 overs. Pradeep Singh started with the ball for Safran, claiming 3 key wickets. He was ably assisted by Arun Zalpuri and Akash Thakur, who both grab two wickets apiece to dismantle the opposition’s batting lineup.
For his explosive and match-defining innings, Chandan was deservedly named Man of the Match.
