BHADERWAH, Oct 10: Son of the soil, Chain Singh, who bagged shooting bronze (in 50m Rifle) in the recently concluded Asian Games 2014 at Incheon in South Korea, was today accorded a warm welcome at his home place Chancer- Gandoh.
As soon as the champion landed at his native place, the people of the area welcomed the winner with great jubilancy and enthusiasm. The people from all walks of life celebrated the sizzling movements by garlanding the champion and crowned him with flying colours of success.
During the celebrations, the champion gave the credit of his success to his parents and nation. He said it was quite a hard journey for me as being an inhabitant of a far flung area, as there is lack of communication, transportation and other sources. But I did not give up and I paved my path through the way of JAKLI, he added.
He impressed upon the young generation to come forward for the participation in the games in different disciplines so that the potential of the Nation will prop up at the table of the medal trolleys. He said that consistent hard work and endurance with positive approach towards the goal is the key to success.
Prominent among those who were present included Daleep Singh Parihar, who also engineered the program with zest and zeal and appreciated the magnanimous success of Chain Singh who has engrossed the history of Chenab valley with golden words.
