CBSE Sahodya Volleyball C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Nov 17: Closing ceremony of CBSE Jammu Sahodya Volleyball Championship 2017-18 was held here today.
Seven schools affiliated to CBSE which are members of Jammu Sahodaya schools complex participated in the competition.
Ram Awtar, IG BSF Jammu FTR presided over the function as a chief guest. Other officers of the force also graced the occasion with their presence.
BSF School Jammu entered finals by defeating their rival and Sainik School Nagrota defeated APS Akhnoor in the semifinals. BSF School Jammu and Sainik School Nagrota competed for the Sahodya Volleyball championship Trophy in the finals.
Sainik School defeated BSF School Jammu by 2-1 sets. The first set was won by Sainik School Nagrota by 25-22.  BSF School won the second set by 25-14 and in the third set Sainik School Nagrota defeated BSF School Jammu by 15 -12. Sainik School Nagrota emerged as champions and BSF School Jammu were the runners-up. Vijay Singh of Sainik School Nagrota was adjudged as the best player of the Championship.
Ram Awtar IG BSF School Jammu FTR gave away the prizes to the winning team and he also felicitated the runners up team. In his address, he emphasized the importance of sports for everyone in the society. He also declared the meet closed.
Veerji Pandita, Sports In-charge of the school is coordinating the event, while the matches were officiated by Amarjeet Singh, Mulkh Raj Khajuria, Shiwali Dogra and Anil Kumar.
Pandita presented vote of thanks.
The event culminated with the National Anthem.
