Budhal team wins Pir Panjal Volleyball League title

RAJOURI, Feb 16: Army organized a Volleyball Tournament for girls in Budhal area here today.
The tournament “Pir Panjal Volleyball League-2022” was organized by 60 RR Naga wherein 4 energetic women volleyball teams of Rajouri and Reasi districts participated.
The aim of the tournament was to motivate young girls to take up sports as a profession and to inculcate the values of sportsmanship.
The tournament was played in a round-robin format in the league stages in which two pools with two teams each played to qualify for the semi-finals. The final match was played between Budhal and Chasana teams in which Budhal team remained victorious.
Shamim Akhter, BDC Chairperson Budhal New, urged girls of the region to actively take part in sports and other co-curricular activities.
Manzoor Naik, a prominent Socio-Political activist from Budhal region expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing the Pir Panjal Volleyball League especially for girls.
He further commented that it was a big opportunity for young girl players. Hopefully, these young female players get more opportunities in the future, he added.
Mohd Farooq Inqlabi, Sarpanch Kewal Lower said that such sporting activities would boost confidence among girls of the region and could compete with girls of urban areas.
Other prominent personalities present during the final match were Sangeeta Thakur, Sarpanch Dandote, etc.
