BSF’s Tennis Spandan League 2026 begins

JAMMU, May 21: The four-day BSF Jammu Region Lawn Tennis Spandan League 2026 commenced with great enthusiasm at MA Stadium under the Khelo India Initiative. The tournament is being organized by the Border Security Force in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and Jammu and Kashmir Lawn Tennis Association to promote sports culture and nurture young tennis talent in the region.
The event was inaugurated by Shashank Anand, Inspector General, BSF Jammu, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers in providing a competitive platform to budding players. He emphasized the importance of sports in building discipline, fitness, and team spirit among youth.
A total of 36 matches were played on the opening day across Open Singles, Junior, and Women’s categories, witnessing exciting performances from players.
In the Open Singles category, Gurpinder Singh defeated Vivek Singh by 6-1, while Deepak Parihar outplayed Akshay Sharma by 6-0. Saksham Jain defeated Abhinav Sharma by 6-2, and Amar Jyoti Sharma registered a 6-1 victory over Arun Kumar Baru.
Dr Shaurya Pratap Singh, Paras Kachroo, Abhinandan Upadhyay, Ashish Bali, Kuldeep Bhagat and Ujjwal Singh all recorded dominating 6-0 victories in their respective matches. Harshwardhan also impressed with a convincing 7-1 win against Raghav Sabharwal.
