‘Drass has potential to become winter sports hub’

KARGIL, Mar 4: In Ladakh, Drass can be explored as a winter sports hub, because it has natural slopes and suitable temperature and is feasible to all types of winter sports.
This was stated by SSP Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar during the finale of the District level Khelo India Winter Games played at Goshan International Ice Hockey Rink Drass.
Chiktan Block won the finales by defeating Drass by a solitary goal.
Dr Vinod further said that the winter games like Ice Hockey can be extended upto March ending if it is played in Drass and Kargil can give best alternative for Skiing also extending the period of Skiing upto mid summers.
On this occasion, SDM Drass Asgar Ali, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, SHO Drass and huge number of spectators were present on this occasion.
