RAJOURI, Aug 22: In a heartwarming gesture of support, BJP Block President Behrote, Qazi Abass, extended generous assistance to 14-year-old boxing prodigy Mohammad Yasser of Rajouri, who recently clinched gold at the 4th Sub-Junior U-15 National Boxing Championship held in Noida.
Recognizing Yaser’s extraordinary talent and unwavering determination, Qazi Abass donated one kanal of land and a cash prize of Rs 10,000. The young champion, who lost his father six years ago, currently lives with his mother in a single room of an old DIET building in Rajouri, battling severe financial constraints despite his national achievement.
Qazi Abass commended the young athlete’s resilience, stating, “He has made Rajouri and the entire Jammu & Kashmir proud. It is our moral responsibility to support such emerging talent.” He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of J&K UT and the District Administration to extend financial assistance and provide permanent housing to help Yaser continue his boxing journey with dignity.
