AKHNOOR, Dec 11: Organised by Range Police Headquarters under its Civic Action Programme, Range Police Volleyball Friendship Cup, was inaugurated here today by Shakeel Ahmad Beig, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range.
Beig was accompanied by Mohan Lal Kaith, Additional SP, Rural Jammu, Rayees Mohd Bhat, SDPO Akhnoor, SHO Samba, Pardeep Kumar and other police officers.
In his augural address, DIG said that police is organizing various programmes under Civic Action Programme in order to bridge the gap between police and public. He further said that in order to keep the youth mentally and physically fit and to channelize the youth energy in right direction, the young generation should participate in different sports activities.
He further disclosed that 5th (last) phase of Friendship cup shall be held in Jammu on 14th and 15th of December 2013.
Among the prominent persons, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area and Principal, HSS Akhnoor were present.
In today’s matches, Police Youth club Akhnoor, Pargwal Club, Planwala Club and Pintu Club Akhnoor registered emphatic wins and entered in the next round of semis to be held on 15th of this month.
