BCCI picks five JKCA U-19 Girls for National CoE event

JAMMU, May 22: In a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), five junior women cricketers have been selected to participate in the prestigious BCCI Inter Centre of Excellence (CoE) Tournament scheduled from May 30 to June 9, in Ahmedabad.
The selected players Shambhavi Rajput (wicketkeeper-batter), Manya Banotra (batting all-rounder), Ananya Dogra (medium pacer), Sania Slathia (bowling all-rounder) and Reyanshu Rani attended the U-19 Girls Elite Camp held from April 25 to May 21 at Ranchi and Mohali.
According to a communication issued by VVS Laxman, Head, BCCI CoE, the selected players will represent Team E and have been directed to report in Ahmedabad on May 29.
Brigadier Anil Gupta, Member Administration, JKCA Sub Committee, lauded the players, saying, “They have not only brought laurels to themselves but have added another feather to JKCA’s colourful cap.”
Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations and Development, termed the selection a major boost for women’s cricket in J&K. “It’s a great opportunity for these young cricketers to showcase their talent on the national platform,” he said.
