Basic Judo Coaching Camp concludes

LEH, May 1: Basic/Advance Judo Coaching Camp for boys and girls of Leh district that began on April 8, concluded today in an impressive ceremony held at Indoor Stadium, Leh.
DC, Leh Avny Lavasa was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the students, the DC said that playing sports is important for overall development of children. She added that sports not only build physical endurance but it also develops mental health from a young age. She said that the major benefit of being a sports person is that it makes an individual better person and brings lot of discipline in life.
Speaking on the occasion, reputed national coach from Kerala, Anthony Lee who has come to Leh to benefit maximum number of local students giving them the basics of Judo expressed gratitude to Administration for having thought of training students in martial arts. He said that martial arts teach children the way of life and they need to continue playing with support from the YS&S Department.
District YS&S Officer, Tsering Tashi said that it is an initiative to encourage students to play Judo considering their natural stamina and future potential in the sports. He mentioned about the local coaches PT teacher Tsering Tsoma and Nilza Angmo who assisted Lee in training the students given in batches of three. He mentioned that the training will be continued after the election is over to benefit the local children from the presence of international coach, national gold medalist, Lee.
