VADODARA, Nov 13: Riding on superb centuries by skipper K Revanth Reddy and S Venkata Rahul, Andhra Pradesh thrashed Jammu and Kashmir by 9 wickets in the ongoing U-23 Men’s State-A Trophy at Kotambi Stadium B Ground Vadodara today.
Earlier, put into bat, Jammu and Kashmir scored a good total of 284 runs in the allotted 50 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Basit Nazir top scored with 79 runs off 102 balls, studded with 7 boundaries, while Arnav Gupta (52), Mousub Mohd Bhat (48) and Arya Thakur (47) were the other major contributors.
G Sumith was the most successful bowler for Andhra Pradesh, who took 3 wickets. In reply, Andhra Pradesh chased the target easily in 46.3 overs by losing one wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Revanth Reddy top scored with unbeaten 139 runs off 137 deliveries, studded with 15 fours and 4 sixes, while Venkata Rahul scored 103 runs off 114 deliveries with 14 fours and one six. Medium pacer Basit Bashir was the most successful bowler for J&K who took the lone wicket to fall.
