JAMMU, Oct 16: The annual prize distribution function was organized today at Shivalik College of Education, Udhampur, inside Mahatma Gandhi Hall.
Prof Deshbandhu Gupta, Director, Colleges Development Council, University of Jammu, was the chief guest while the principals of the Macro Teaching supporting schools were the special guests of honour.
The programme was attended by the students, their parents, staff members and members of the civil society.
The function started with lighting of the traditional lamp amidst Ganesh mantra by the chief guest followed by release of Academic Time – Task Management Journal and Pupil Log Book 2014-15 by chief guest, college chairman, Dr Mineesh, principal, Dr Vikram and HoD, Sunita Koul.
The college management felicitated Prof Deshbandhu Gupta for his distinguished services in maintaining high moral standards in the field of Teacher Education. Later, Prof Gupta also felicitated the 12 principals along with the 113 college staff members for their untiring efforts and sincerity in college.
Later the chief guest awarded around 400 merit certificates, 100 NSS certificates, 80 gold, bronze and silver medals along with 25 very special prizes to 183 students of the college.
The students of the new academic session presented a variety of colourful cultural programmes on the occasion.
Prof Sunita Koul, read out the college academic report while the principal and chairman gave the formal welcome and vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
